Award Winning Puhoi Bush Bach: Recreate This Silvered Natural Wood Cladding Look

A simple yet beautiful "bush bach" has taken out the Auckland-Northland Architectural Designers Awards, announced on Friday, June 30, 2017.

Designer David Maurice has created a raw but considered holiday home with a large fireplace and twin bathtubs on the deck.

Natural timber siding features on the exterior, silvering off into a patina which contrasts ever so slightly with the corrugated steel elements.

A similar natural cladding effect can be used using Abodo's Tundra Cladding, coated in Sioo:x wood protection.

Sioo:x is a silicate based surface coating that reacts with wood and the surrounding elements creating a slick silvery shell on the outside of timber.

Please note: Tundra Cladding is no longer available. However, you can achieve a similar look in our Vulcan Cladding – Standard Series.
