Global Webinar / Inside Abodo Vaaro Fire - Extreme Performance Timber. Find out more >
12.09.2016
Abodo Founder, Daniel Gudsell, talks to Vodafone Chief Executive, Russell Stanners, about innovation, sustainability and how Abodo’s eco timber helped the Vodafone Building achieve its Green Star rating.
FSC® certified, Abodo’s wood is harvested from sustainable forests. Thermally modified and chemical free, the Abodo timber cladding used on the building’s exterior and interior was an important part of Green Building Standard that the building achieved.
Engineered with vertical grain using a patented process, the wood is also more durable with less twisting.
The Christchurch Vodafone building is a fantastic showcase of this innovative new product, developed here in New Zealand with Callaghan funding.
Responding to customer demand for greater fixing depth, builders will get an extra 10mm where they need it most. Replacing the 65mm, the new 75mm Cladding Screw is arriving in September 2026.
An enhanced Protector coating formulation, is being rolled out. Factory coating of the new Protector – Patina is now happening, with Straw and Teak changing over in August.
Abodo introduces a breakthrough that reshapes what’s possible in timber design: Vaaro Fire, an ultra-durable, fire compliant timber* - all from one trusted manufacturer.
Lead times for our main Vulcan® Cladding, Decking, Screening and Panelling lines, temporarily extended.
