Longbush Ecosanctuary Goes Chemical Free

There will be no rehab required for the new Longbush Ecosanctuary Welcome Centre. It will be clad in chemical free Heart Douglas fir – donated by Abodo Wood.

Sarosh Mulla, a PhD student in Architecture at the University of Auckland and a brilliant, award-winning young designer, is designing a Welcome Shelter / Workers’ Shed for Longbush – a registered charity.

Sarosh has designed a beautiful, yet practical structure which will be clad in Abodo Heart Douglas fir, and “decked out” in Abodo's Sand Decking.

Longbush Ecosanctuary is located just eleven kilometres north of Gisborne. Described as an ‘Ark’ for rare and endangered native species of plants and animals, the Ecosanctuary is set in a beautiful inland valley, carved out of the hills by the Waimata River which flows into the heart of Gisborne City.
