Abodo Wood

Introducing New Growth ™ Feature Timbers, and a bold new look too.

Vulcan Primed Cladding

Prepped and ready for painting, Vulcan Primed Cladding is created from thermally modified New Zealand plantation timber, factory pre-primed for optimal coating performance.

Abodo’s thermal modification process enhances the stability of the timber and reduces the resin content.

For Vulcan Primed Cladding, this opens the door to a wide variety of paint colours, including dark tones, without running the risk of cupping or warping in high temperatures.

This process also lends the timber natural durability without added chemical preservatives.

Available in a number of vertical and horizontal applications, including a secret fix profile for a vertical shiplap look, Abodo Vulcan Primed Cladding produces clean lines to suit both traditional and contemporary designs. The priming process creates a smooth, easy-flow finish that allows for fuss-free paint application.

As the timber is derived from FSC® certified, responsibly managed New Zealand plantation forests, this is the primed weatherboard of choice for those looking for a sustainable timber option.

Heat tempered timber

Vulcan timbers are treated with heat and steam rather than chemicals, which means the product is ‘pre-shrunk’ and will be more stable in service.

Natural Stability
Grown trees experience resistance (like wind for example) perpendicular to the grain, so it makes sense to produce wood products which are also cut perpendicular to the grain. Abodo Vulcan Primed Cladding is vertical grain, which means weatherboards have greater stability and less surface cracking.

Natural Durability
This product is naturally durable, and contains no wood preservatives. Just as nature intended.
