Duradia – A New Zealand First

Pan Pac Forest Products have led the way in the Southern Hemisphere by commissioning the region’s first large scale thermal modification kiln.

Pan Pac, one of New Zealand’s largest wood processing companies has recently installed a state of the art Mahild TMT kiln, designed to modify Radiata Pine at temperatures up to 240 degrees.

Pan Pac’s product – branded “Duradia” is premium product, naturally enhanced with nothing more than heat.

Thermal modification – a technology developed in Europe has increased in popularity over the past 20 years. You can learn more about the benefits of thermal modification here.

Pan Pac have partnered with Abodo in the commercialisation of thermally modified pine, and Duradia is used to create some of Abodo’s products best known products, including Vulcan Cladding.
