A Wanaka local, Kate brings a passion for sustainability and design to her role at Abodo’s Cardrona showcase.
Since beginning the role as Showroom Ambassador in August last year, Kate has enjoyed spending time at Abodo’s Cardrona Cabin, greeting visitors who range from tourists to those building a home in the area, to architects and designers looking to see Abodo timber products up close.
“I'm personally passionate about sustainability and the environment and I’ve always loved architecture and design,’ says Kate.
“I’ve also done a few renovation projects of my own so I know the ins and outs of material choices. For me, Abodo aligns with my worldview, which makes the job easy!”
Like most who call the Southern Lakes home, Kate wears a variety of hats. When she’s not representing Abodo in Cardrona, she works in Airbnb management in Wanaka and is also the mother of three children. “I'm also a yoga teacher!” she says. “I’m really interested in health and wellness, which is why I love living down here, with all the opportunities for being outdoors, hiking and paddleboarding and enjoying the alpine climate.”
You can catch Kate in the Cabin from 10am-3pm from Tuesday through to Saturday, or at other times by appointment. To contact Kate, reach out via email or phone 027 301 6133.
