Helping Sustainable Coastlines Build ‘The Flagship’ Living Building

Sustainable Coastlines have an ambitious goal, to create what could be the most sustainable building in NZ by building their education centre to Living Building Challenge standards.

More about the project

The building is modular and transportable; designed to be moved to a new site after its time in the Wynyard Quarter. The plans and strategy behind it will be open-sourced, creating a sustainable construction solution that can benefit communities globally.
This centre will help people look after waterways and coastlines by significantly increasing Sustainable Coastlines’ ability to deliver large-scale training and education.
Visitors will be invited to explore the good, the bad and the ugly about our coastlines and waterways in this unique and beautiful building through engaging, family-friendly displays, interactive technologies, and multimedia content.
