Innovation and Sustainability: Abodo Wood Showcased in New Vodafone Building
Abodo Marketing Director, Daniel Gudsell, talks to Vodafone Chief Executive, Russell Stanners, about innovation, sustainability and how Abodo’s eco timber helped the Vodafone Building achieve its Green Star rating from the NZ Green Building Council.
FSC-certified, Abodo’s wood is harvested from sustainable forests. Thermally modified and chemical free, the Abodo timber cladding used on the building’s exterior and interior was an important part of Green Building Standard that the building achieved.
Engineered with vertical grain using a patented process, the wood is also more durable with less twisting.
The Christchurch Vodafone building is a fantastic showcase of this innovative new product, developed here in New Zealand with Callaghan funding.
