Longbush Ecosanctuary - Gisborne, New Zealand

Abodo Tundra Cladding provides a unique natural skin, and its low carbon, preservative-free state is a perfect fit for this ecosanctuary

The Longbush Ecosanctuary Welcome Shelter has gone from an innovative, but distant, vision to become a very important piece of public architecture within New Zealand.

Funded through donors and constructed by volunteers, the Shelter aims to support educational and volunteer programs encouraging conservation, education and research throughout New Zealand and internationally.

The Welcome Shelter itself is clad in Abodo Tundra in vertical shiplap, a naturally durable heart Douglas fir timber cladding – donated by Abodo Wood.

Abodo Tundra provides a unique natural skin, and its low carbon, preservative-free state is a perfect fit for an ecosanctuary.
