Located on the approach to the holiday hot spot of Matakana village, a short drive north of Auckland, the showcase celebrates the capabilities and range of Abodo Vulcan products, as well as exemplifying the effects of our finish options.
Master Builders Selah Homes were drawn to Abodo’s carbon negative products in their quest to create a climate conscious building. With a total of approximately 3500kg of carbon stored in Abodo’s timbers throughout the showhome, this choice makes a highly significant impact on the environmental footprint of the build.
The exterior is wrapped in Vulcan Cladding and batten screening, with a brushed finish coated in Protector - Ebony. The vertical battens laid over the external walls give the facade depth, while the brushed finish provides dynamic visual texture. The Vulcan-clad garage door adds a finishing touch of refinement and consistency to the external aesthetic.
A key internal space - which is Abodo’s base within the showhome - is fully lined in Vulcan Panelling, with a carefully crafted curved wall at one end created through masterful use of vertically laid panelling. Overhead, the ceiling panelling extends out to the soffits and draws the eye to the landscaped garden beyond.
The resulting luxurious home proves that such a high level of finish and quality does not need to come at an environmental cost.
To see for yourself and explore our products up close and personal, visit the showhome at 963 Matakana Rd between 10.00am – 2.00pm, Wednesday to Saturday.
We applaud the winners of this year’s Timber Design Awards, many of which made use of Abodo timbers.
To help save time and money for builders, alongside reducing timber wastage, a range of selected set lengths are now available to order.
