The new “Free Store” is completed, clad in Vulcan timber.
If you’ve been following The Free Store journey you’ll be aware that the non-profit organisation has converted an old surplus 20-foot shipping container into a beautifully refurbished retail store – designed by Rebecca McKinnon at Designgroup Stapleton Elliott.
As a feature, the store is clad in beautiful Vulcan Cladding.
The retail store, based on Willis Street in Wellington City is where the Free Store hands out all that surplus food.
A fantastic charity project, The Free Store as received an incredible amount of support from the community to make this happen: the container, an architect, builders, structural engineer, metalwork, uPVC joinery, a joiner, welding materials, graphic design, container transport, rust-inhibition solutions, paint supplies, insulation, plasterboard, flashings, fasteners, timber for cladding, plywood, flooring, lighting solution, stainless steel signage, painter, cement and so much more.
All these wonderful people have donated their time and resources because they believe in The Free Store.
